Product Description

Herb Walk – 14th July, 2024.

This walk will take place at Stanhope Dene at 5.30pm and will last 90 minutes to 2 hours so plenty of time to get home for the football! I will lead a small group of up to 10 people along the paths of Stanhope Dene and will talk about the herbs that we find there. I did a recon mission a couple of weeks ago and found many plants that we can discuss. I will cover the edibility of these herbs, any medicinal value and also any spiritual/traditional knowledge.

Stanhope Dene is an old ex-mining site in Weardale that has been allowed to re-wild. It is home to rabbits, deer, toads and other wildlife and is full of British native plants.

Whilst we will be on the paths, they aren’t in great condition so please wear sturdy shoes and weather appropriate clothing. This walk is suitable for people who are able to walk over uneven ground for 2 miles.

Parking is very limited at the Dene so please park in the village and walk up Crawleyside if at all possible. We will meet at the corner where Crawleyside road meets the Dene pathway – https://w3w.co/minds.states.snap . Please be mindful that people do live there so respect their driveways and privacy.

Please select ‘Local Pickup’ for shipping method at checkout.
