Product Description

Gymnema, Gymnema sylvestre, is a member of the Apocynaceae family. Its Hindi name gurmar, which means “sugar destroyer” references its ability to temporarily stop the taste buds from being able to taste sweet foods. It is also known as Australian cowplant, and Periploca of the woods.

Gymnema is native across parts of South Africa, China, Asia and Australia. It grows as a woody vine and has yellow flowers.

The natural constituents of Gymnema are:
Triterpine and Damarene saponins, sterols including gymnemic acid, gymnemasaponins and gurmarin, flavonoids glycosides, lapel, anthraquinone and quercitol

This product contains dried aerial parts.

Suggested use: Add 1 teaspoon per mug of freshly boiled and slightly cooled water, allow to steep for 5 to 10 minutes and strain to remove herbs.
