50 teabags, made of cotton so fully biodegradable and compostable. These bags are a generous 8 cm by 10 cm so there’s plenty of room for your tea to percolate, even if you are making a blend!
The most environmentally solution is of course to use a tea strainer or to make your tea in a cafetière or French press but if you want to brew your tae on the move, that’s not always convenient so these teabags are a good solution. Did you know, the first patent for a ‘tea leaf holder’ was made in 1897 by Roberta Lawson and Mary McLaren of Milwaukee, Wisconsin? In 1908, Thomas Sullivan, a tea importer started selling his products in silk pouches. The idea was for people to take the herbs out but people started putting the whole bag in their pot and this really drove the popularity and concept of the teabag.
For best results, store your teabags in a cool, dry place.
This product contains fifty teabags.
Suggested use: Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of herb to the bag, tighten draw strings and tie to the handle of your mug or just under the bowl of a teaspoon. Place bag in mug or pot (using the spoon on the outside of the pot to prevent losing the strings) of freshly boiled water and allow to percolate for 5 to 10 minutes.
