Brahmi, Bacopa monnieri, is also known as water hyssop and is a member of the plantaginaceae family. Bacopa is a sub-tropical plant that loves wet conditions and is often sold as a decorative plant for tropical aquariums. it is also known as water hyssop. It is the ‘herb of grace’ and is used in both Siddha and Ayurveda as a “Medya Rasayana,” or “rejuvenator of the intellect” and is said to resonate with the crown and third eye chakras. Bacopa is named after the creator god of the Hindu pantheon, Brahma. Bacopa was described in ancient Atharva-Veda texts and Sanskrit books such as the Great Trilogy (Caraka Samhita, Sushrita Samhita, and Astanga Hridaya) as early as the 6th century. Bacopa has cold and astringent energetics, turning sweet. Magically, Bacopa is linked to wisdom and insight.

Suggested use: Add 1 to 2 teaspoons per mug of freshly boiled and slightly cooled water, allow to steep for 5 to 10 minutes and strain to remove herbs.
